ABOUT US
Surrendered Hearts Ministries (SHM) is a Christian-based organization that is made up of ordinary everyday women that are tired of living their lives the way that they have been living them. Because of this ongoing frustration, these women have all readily and thankfully decided to surrender their hearts, minds, and lives to God.    Mark 12:30-31
Surrendered Hearts Ministries was brought to life as a result of a vision and a call on Katharina Adkins' life by Jesus Christ. Katharina possesses a continual burning desire to help other women with the struggles, turmoil, and difficulties that they are experiencing in their own lives. As a direct result of her own personal trials and tribulations during her journey through life, Katharina has thankfully and lovingly come to know God, and now she is driven to shine a light of hope in dark places for other women to find their way out of their own negative situations in life.

WHAT DOES SURRENDERED HEARTS MINISTRY DO? To begin, Surrendered Hearts Ministries conducts weekly Bible studies here in their El Paso, Texas location of 4801 Salem Drive. The SHM Bible studies are not designed or intended to be your typical “Hallelujah, praise the Lord!” type of weekly Bible studies. What the SHM Bible studies are is an open forum whereby women that are in bondage to varying “chains” in their lives are encouraged to open their hearts and minds to the Word and teachings of Jesus Christ in order that they may become free and “unchained.” In addition, these women are finally free to share the pain, trials, and tribulations that they have recently, or are currently experiencing in their personal lives. Through this open sharing format, these women have found a place of safety and shelter where they feel extremely comfortable in being able to open up and form spiritual bonds with their sisters from all walks of life that have experienced very similar situations in their lives as well. Through all of this, strong bonds and personal relationships with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ are formed.                        "When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the Rock"       Psalm 61:2

WHAT ELSE DOES SURRENDERED HEARTS MINISTRY CURRENTLY DO?
In addition to the weekly Bible Studies, SHM also conducts ongoing outreach in the El Paso, Texas area. The focus and beneficiaries of the SHM outreach are diverse and have included and will include such entities as the El Paso County Detention Facility (EPCDF); local homeless shelters; battered women’s shelters; orphanages; youth groups; mentoring programs; benevolence organizations, and several other deserving entities. Volunteers from SHM willingly donate their available time, energy, talents, skills, abilities, and most importantly…their hearts…all in an ongoing effort to aid and assist their fellow brothers and sisters, and to serve as a beacon of light in the dark. If this is where your heart is as well, or where you would eventually like it to be, then you are in the right place!

WHAT DENOMINATION OR AFFILIATION IS SURRENDERED HEARTS MINISTRIES?
Part of the beauty of and joy of Surrendered Hearts Ministries is that it is not only open to ALL women…but SHM is also very open-minded. A necessary quality of being open-minded is the ability and desire to open your arms to everyone and in every situation. Women from all races, creeds, colors, religions, and socio-economic backgrounds are welcomed by Surrendered Hearts Ministries.
Surrendered Hearts Ministries is not directly affiliated with any denomination. SHM is a Christian-based organization; however, denominational affiliation of its members is both inconsequential and immaterial. The only requirement is the desire to aid and assist others; to make the world a better place one day at a time; and to better one self as a woman.
